I'Onissimo! Woodwinds Concert November 18, 2001 4:00 pm - Free

Woodwind music of thanks and community will be performed by the I'Onissimo! Woodwind Ensemble in a free public concert on Sunday, November 18th. at 4:00 p.m. The concert will be held on the porch of the Eble family at 171 E. Shipyard Road in I'On Village, Mt. Pleasant, SC. Blankets or folding chairs for lawn seating under the oaks of adjacent Eastlake park are suggested. Children are welcome.

In case of rain, the concert will be held indoors at 220 Ponsbury Road in I'On, the use of which has been donated by Peris Construction.

Music performed will include America the Beautiful, Come Ye Thankful People, Amazing Grace, You're a Grand Old Flag and How great though Art. Some Dixieland jazz may be included on the program. Some selections will be part of a sing along program.

Jack Hayes will perform with the group for the first time on bass clarinet. Also performing will be Peggy Orange, flute; Barbara Drobes, flute; Stacy Hammond, flute; Faye Fischer, keyboard, and Don Norquist, Clarinet.

Band Benefit Performance Nov. 15 at Chick-Fil-A

On Thursday, November 15 the I'Onissimo! String Ensemble will perform as part of a special family night benefit at Chick-Fil-A on Johnnie Dodds Blvd. in Mt. Pleasant from 5 - 7 p.m. Selections will include traditional American dance music, Stephen Foster and Mozart. During this performance Chick-Fil-A will be running an instrument collection for the McCellenville Middle School band. The performance at Chick-Fil-A is also free.

I'Onissimo! is the Chamber Music ensemble of I'On Village. Membership is open to any interested musician, including those not living in I'On. For more information and location maps for the concert see www.awod.com/hamilton/ or call 849-8481.
