The music will be presented by Lynn Shull, Soprano (back row, top); Peggy Orange, Alto (front row, center); Wayne French, Tenor (bottom, front row); Lee Pringle, Tenor (top, front row); and Lon Shull, Baritone (bottom, back row). The accompanist will be Sue Harmon (Not pictured).

The concert takes its theme from Spring thoughts of love.  According to co-director Wayne French, "We have selected a small sampling of love songs from the ages. We begin in the Renaissance, meander through late 19th and early 20th century France and Germany, and then dabble in the dramatic world of the Opera.  We continue on to the stages of Broadway and end with endearing arrangements of Pop and American Folk tunes.  This program gently reminds us that ours was not the first generation to sing the praises of love."

Songs will include In These Delightful Pleasant Groves by Henry Purcell; a Duet from The Barber of Seville and a vocal ensemble setting of And So It Goes by Billy Joel.  The program will conclude with a remarkable, renaissance style vocal interpretation of Can't Buy Me Love by Beatles John Lennon & Paul McCartney, as arranged by Keith Abbs.

The concert will be held in the new Creek Club building at the confluence of Hobcaw and Shelmore Creeks in the Shelmore neighborhood of I'On.  (Directions are on our map page) Following the concert, refreshments will be served on the club's large wrap-around porch, believed to be the widest porch in the Lowcountry.  Use of the building has been donated by the I'On Club.
