Musicians from the IOnissimo! String, Woodwind and Vocal Ensembles will share the stage in an indoor concert held at OBrions Pub, on IOn Square, 361 N. Shelmore Blvd. in Mt. Pleasant, SC on Sunday, February 24th. at 4 pm. The concert is free and open to the public. Children are welcome.

The IOnissimo! Irish Wind Trio will open the program with selections from the Emerald Isle including Danny Boy, Lavenders Blue, Cockles & Mussels and some lively Irish Jigs. Wind players Stacy Hammond, Flute; Jack Hayes, Bass and Don Norquist, Clarinet will perform. Following, Wayne French of IOnissimo Sings will share songs in his clear, Irish tenor.
The IOnissimo! Bass String quintet will play counterpoint with its own ethnic themes performing portions of Dvorjaks only string quintet for violin, viola, cello and string bass. A lighthearted piece in the tradition of PDQ Bach will weave together Mozarts famous Eine Kleine Nacht Musik and phases from the enduring bagpipe tune Scotland the Brave. The strings will close with a rag by African American composer Scott Joplin. Performing will be Vannessa Chambers, Cello; Julia Hamilton, Violin; Marlena Davis, Violin; Mary Ann Spivy, Viola; and Carolyn Ferrell, string bass.
OBrions kitchen will be open during the concert with food and drink available from the menu.
IOnissimo! is the chamber music ensemble of IOn Village. It welcomes the participation of both armature and professional musicians from both in and outside of IOn. Opportunities to play and share music are available for all skill levels and ages. IOnissimo! is supported by the IOn Trust, a non-profit community foundation dedicated to the improvement of civic and cultural life in the East Cooper area.
This program will replace the I'Onissimo! Sings concert previously scheduled. The vocal concert will be rescheduled.
