The concert will close with the solemn sounding of Echo Taps by the IOnissimo! Brass and Bugle corps from positions around the lake. Echo Taps presents the familiar tune of military rest and honor by multiple brass instruments disbursed over a large area, in the manner of a battlefield. It is an affecting reminder of the high cost paid by veterans for Americas artistic and individual freedoms.
Veterans are invited to participate in a special program that will encourage children present to learn about their service and recent American military history. Interested veterans are encouraged to contact William Hamilton at hamilton@awod.com or (843) 849-8481 for details.
This concert is sponsored by Simonini Builders. Their new canal house nearby at 28 Rialto Road will be previewed prior to the concert. Cold drinks will be offered to the public there. This years concert sponsors Grace Salonspa, Chick-fil-A, New Directions Medical Staffing, Peris Homes, The Mt. Pleasant Library and O'Brion's Pub will also be recognized at the concert.
