Brass In the Key of "C" |
Mt. Pleasant, SC - The IOnissimo Brass Quintet will hold a free concert on Sunday, April 14 at 4:00 pm at 39 Sowell Street in IOn Village, Mt. Pleasant, SC. Children and the general public are welcome. Folding chairs or blankets for seating are suggested. In case of rain the concert will be held at OBrions Pub on IOn Square.
The IOnissimo! Brass Quintet will play music including the Washington Post March by John Phillip Sousa; Alexanders Ragtime Band; Pacabells Canon and several new pieces. Performing will be Dick Foreman, Tuba; Anna Draftz, French Horn, Dr. Tom Kindel, Trumpet; Robert Jezzups, Trombone and Wes Bryant (not pictured), Trumpet.
A small street fair by Sowell Street residents and childrens sidewalk chalk art contest open to all will be held just prior to the concert. During the musical program, the musicians and audience will join a short parade over the Jefferson and Lafayette Canal Bridges to the Mt. Pleasant amphitheater on Westlake where the Fanfare for IOn Village and National Anthem will, conclude the concert. The newly completed amphitheater features a neoclassical colonnade and hillside seating for 1500 people.

After starting on Sowell Street (Picuted above) the musicians will lead a parade around the corner and over the bridges pictured in the background at right to the Mt. Pleasant Amphithater. Join us with a picnic basket to open at the concert's end. The parade walk is about two short blocks.
