Four Seasons in Words and Music, Feb. 17

 

Mt. Pleasant, SC- The I'Onissimo! String Quartet will present a free Concert at 4 pm on Sunday, February 17 at 17 Faye Lane (Across from Avant Garden, SW corner of Westlake) in the I’On Neighborhood in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The Quartet will perform Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, preceded by a reading of the Sonnets, in English and Italian which inspired the music.  Dr. Massimo Maggiari, of the Italian Dpt. Of the College of Charleston, will provide the Italian interpretation of the poem.  Other music will also be performed. A reception with Italian food, wine and soda will follow. Children and the general public will be welcomed.

 

Musicians performing will be Julia Hamilton, Michael Flynn, Violin; Mary Ann Spivy, Viola; and Don Shetler, Cello.

Directions– Enter I’On at the Round-A-Bout, go North through I’On Square on Shelmore Blvd., bending first to the left, then the right until you reach the Domed Holy Ascension Church on the left. You may park in the marked spaces on the street in the vicinity of the church.

The house is located opposite Avant Garden and the SW Corner of Westlake which can be reached by turning right on to Sowell St. and taking the first left and walking to 17 Faye Lane. Alternately, you may continue past the church half a block on Shelmore and take the first right towards the corner of the lake. Signs will mark the way from I’On Square. The concert will be held on the second floor and stairs are the only access.
