Motzart's Quintet for Two Violins, Two Violas, and Cello in G minor, K. 516 was composed in 1787, at a time when he was concerned about his Father's health.  It is remembered for its somber tones which ultimately resolve into a bright dance which reflects the composers ultimate optimistic, enlightenment view of human life.  "We chost thie piece in honor ot Mozart's 250th. Birthday, which is being celebrated around the world," said Violinist Julia Hamilton.  "It shows us Mozart's gifts for composing memorable viola music, the instrument he preferred to play in String ensemble."

The concert will be followed by a reception, during which participants will be invited to look at plans for the permanent school in I'On.

Directions signs will be posted from the Mathis Ferry Round-A-Bout at Shelmore Blvd. to the school, whcih can be reached by entering I'On, turning right (right) on Civitas Street and driving two blocks.  A large parking lot is next door.

The music of the I'Onissimo! Strings will be featured on I'On Radio once each hour the week before this concert.  The station is available in digital internet stereo at www.ionradio1640.com.
