Mt. Pleasant - Lachner, Corelli and Mozarts music will fill the new corner park at IOns Westlake in Mt. Pleasant when the IOnissimo! String Quartet presents a free concert on Sunday, November 24 at 4:00 pm. Children are welcome.
In case of rain, the concert will be held indoors in the music room at 32 Sowell Street.
Directions
and details can be obtained by online at www.awod.com/hamilton/ or
by calling 849-8481. Signs to both concert locations will be
posted from the Mathis Ferry Round-a-bout to the concert site.
See our directions and locations page
for more detail.
The Lachner String Quartet Opus 105, the Concerto Opus 6, No. 8 by Archangelo Corelli, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozarts Eine Kleine Nachtmusik will be presented. Julia Hamilton, Marlena Davis, Violin; Melanie Vanderwege, Cello; and Mary Ann Spivey, Viola will perform. (Image at Right) The program will conclude with the enduring Thanksgiving Hymn "We Gather Together" based on the composition of Adrianus Valarius 1626.
MP3 recordings of the I'Onisismo Strings can be downloaded on our I'Onissimo! Recordings Page. This is recommended only for high bandwith users due to 4 - 7 mb file sizes.
This
concert will be held in the new "outdoor room" of the
Westlake Corner Park in IOn. The small, landscaped park
projects into the lake. Its semicircular planter wall
will be extended to create a small acoustic shell to enhance the
music, which will be presented without amplification. The park
is located on the opposite end of the lake from the Mt. Pleasant
amphitheater. Folding chairs are suggested.
