Intense, classical music composed in times of revolutionary change will be performed by the I’Onissimo! String Quartet on Sunday, November 21 at 4 pm in the dayroom of Oakdale Assisted Living at 601 Mathis Ferry Rd. in Mt Pleasant, SC 29464. The concert is free and open to the public.

Performing
will be Julia Hamilton and Michael Flynn (Not pictured in left) on violin;
Melanie Vanderwege on Cello and Mary Ann Spivey on Viola.
The concert will open with Mozart’s Divertimento Trio, composed in the age of the American and French Revolutions.
Included on the program will be Interludium in Modo Antiquo by Alexander Glazunov who established fame writing music resonating Russian nationalism at the turn of the 20th. Century. He survived the Russian Revolution, but eventually abandoned his country to tour the US and died in exile in Paris.
Beethoven’s String Quartet Op. 18 #4 will also be performed. Beethoven wrote music in a Europe torn asunder and transformed by the revolutions and wars of Napoleon.
Each of these composers was passionately engaged in the events of his time, stimulating, opposing and shaping the imaginations of people through music.
I’Onissimo! is the community music ensemble of I’On Village. It is supported in part by the I’On Trust, a non profit community foundation dedicated to enriching civic and cultural life in the East Cooper area
