April 12- General information packet on races with maps and full schedule posted on website.  This low resolution PDF is suitable for email and web distribution.  A high resolution version can also be downloaded for printing.

Meet the Racers Practice Ride and Social, April 14

 You or your child will be able to ride with the cyclists of the Lowcountry Volkswagen Racing team on Monday, April 14 when they come to I’On for a meet the racers social and practice ride at Sweet Olive Home and Garden from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.

Sweet Olive Home and Garden is located at 264 N Shelmore Blvd in the I’On Community in Mount Pleasant, SC, across from the domed Holy Ascension Orthodox Church.  The social and practice ride are free and open to the public.

As part of preparations for the following Saturday’s forth annual I’On Bike Races, the public will be invited to check out high tech, ultra light cycle racing equipment, meet some of our featured racers and learn about the strategy it takes to win on a circuit race like the one at I’On.  The event will be webcast live on ION Internet Radio at www.ionradio1640.com.  Refreshments will be served.

At 6:30 the team will roll out from “Amen Corner,” which is the forth turn on the course, between Sweet Olive and the Church for a practice ride tune up to tour the course and give pointers to people wanting to race Saturday.   The team is currently training a number of new riders and you’re invited to come along and see if cycle racing might be of interest to you.  There are races for children and Category 5 new racers Saturday.

March 30- Outdoor Movie to follow Races - Screen on the Green Saturday, April 19 7:30 pm at the Amphitheater – Spaceballs (PG) Join neighbors and friends for the first outdoor movie of 2008. Our resident movie guru, Dave Niemann, has carefully selected a familyfriendly feature. A delightful way to spend a spring evening bring chairs and blankets, munchies and drinks, and come have a fun time. As always, popcorn will be provided. The movie is free and open to the public!
