The I'On
Bicycle Circuit Races

Mt.
Pleasant, SC- Bicycles racing at speeds of up to and over forty miles per hour
will fill the streets of I’On Village on Saturday, April 19st. Races will begin
with youth and amateur heats in the morning and accelerate to a final
professional category 1 & 2 race beginning in the afternoon. A free
children’s fun bicycle and trike race will be held immediately before the final
professional race. An expo center with food vendors and bicycle, health and
fitness business will welcome visitors on Maybank Green.
The public is
welcome to participate by watching the races and visiting the race expo center
on Maybank Green or by participating as a competitor. There is no charge to be a
spectator. A folding chair is suggested for spectators.
This third annual
race will draw over 200 amateurs and professionals from throughout the Eastern
United States for the first day of a weekend of races in the Charleston area
which will conclude with competition the following day at Hampton Park. Those
wishing to race will need to register and pay fees before the event through the
www.ionbiznet.com website or at the officials’ tent on Maybank Green the day of
the race.
Spectators will want to bring an AM radio so they can follow
the event through the live broadcast on ION Internet radio AM 1640 throughout
the day. The broadcast will also be available worldwide on
www.ionradio1640.com.
The races are coordinated by the Lowcountry VW
Racing Team and the event is presented by I’On BizNet, Inc. the community
business association of I’On Village under the direction of Dr. Alan
Comen.
